Search the Wasatch County Court Docket

The Wasatch County court docket is a set of case histories and hearing entries maintained by several Utah courts, not a single county list. A search of the Wasatch County court docket may begin with the statewide public repository, a free party portal, a court calendar, or the clerk who holds the case. The right path depends on the court and record type. District, justice, juvenile, municipal, appellate, and federal matters each follow different lanes. Public access also has limits, so a missing result may call for a narrower search or a request to the proper clerk.

Searching the Wasatch County Court Docket

For a Wasatch County docket search, start with Utah Courts Xchange. It is the state's main public case-information repository. A query there can pull public district and justice case details, selected documents, hearings, charges, judgments, and a chronological history. You will need either a paid account or a guest arrangement. If you are a party to a case, try MyCase first. It grants free access to eligible linked cases after identity and email checks. For anything missing, the clerk still outranks both services. That covers a certified copy, an old file, or a restricted record.

Know the venue before you search. A Wasatch matter may sit in several courts. Options include Fourth District Court, Wasatch County Justice Court, Heber City Justice Court, and Fourth District Juvenile Court. Summit County Justice Court handles a Park City matter. A federal court is also possible. Pair the case or citation number with the right location. Xchange itself warns that those numbers are not unique statewide.

  1. Identify the court from a notice, citation, filing, or official directory.
  2. Select District, Justice, or both, then narrow by county or court.
  3. Search by number when possible, or use a name with the official wildcard guidance.
  4. Compare the court, case type, filing date, and party role before opening a result.
  5. Save the case number and location, then contact that clerk for an official copy.

Wasatch Xchange Fields That Matter

Xchange gives you both broad and narrow search options. Its fields cover jurisdiction, search type, case number, last name or company, first name, case type, county or court scope, birth date, citation number, and several date ranges. Add filters one at a time. Piling on too many can bury a valid record that was sitting there all along.

Inside a Wasatch County Court Docket

Think of a Wasatch County court docket as the case roadmap. It can list the number, filing date, party roles, judge, attorneys, documents, charges or claims, hearings, judgments, financial entries, and final disposition. One row rarely tells the full story. A charge is an allegation, not a conviction. A complaint is only a pleading. A reset shifts a hearing to a new date but dismisses nothing.

Case NumberThe court identifier, read with the location because it is not unique statewide.
Party CodeA role such as defendant, claimant, creditor, debtor, respondent, or guardian.
FilingA document entry and date, which may not include a public image.
SettingA scheduled or completed hearing, trial, review, or conference.
DispositionThe recorded resolution of a charge, claim, or case.
JudgmentA court ruling that may later be paid, modified, vacated, or appealed.

A docket row and the document behind it are different layers. The record may be public while an attachment stays protected. When the exact wording of an order matters, ask the clerk.

Wasatch Case Codes Need Context

Utah's code tables explain what a result is without deciding what it means. Civil codes sort matters into categories like contracts, debt collection, probate, property, and judgments. On the traffic side, TN marks a traffic citation and TC a traffic court case. Party codes describe each person's role. Read any code beside the case history. Also weigh the court that issued it.

Setting
A scheduled court event. It is not a disposition.
Continued
The event moved to another date or stage.
Disposition
The recorded resolution of a charge or claim.
Certified copy
A clerk-authenticated copy, obtained through the court rather than a screen capture.
Restricted
A record or document whose access is limited by rule, statute, or order.

Weekly reports also display public case type and party codes. They suit a date-based review well. Still, they cannot replace the current case history.

Courts That Keep Dockets in Wasatch County

Utah assigns cases by jurisdiction. The Fourth Judicial District spans Wasatch, Juab, Millard, and Utah Counties. Within Wasatch, it serves as the general-jurisdiction trial court. Its reach covers felonies, Class A criminal cases, broad civil disputes, domestic matters, probate, and property cases. Justice courts take the lower-level criminal, traffic, infraction, and small-claims work. Juvenile cases sit in a separate court. That court has its own access rules.

Wasatch Courts Share One Complex

Several courts occupy the county complex at 1361 S Highway 40 in Heber City, yet no single docket covers them all. Fourth District Court sits in Suite 110. Wasatch County Justice Court is in Suite 100. Fourth District Juvenile Court occupies Suite 120. Getting the suite and court name right keeps your request from landing with the wrong clerk. The county court-location matrix lays out these venue distinctions.

Find Wasatch County Court Dates

A future hearing lives on the calendar layer. A docket history alone is not enough. Utah Courts posts a statewide court calendar. Heber City runs a municipal event calendar with list, week, and month views. Parties can also check MyCase and their official notice. After a reset or a scheduling conflict, a clerk remains the best check.

Write down the event type, court, date, time, and where you saw it. An arraignment, review, conference, or trial setting is a scheduled step, not a final outcome. The separate Wasatch County court dates page walks through each route. It also explains what to do after a missed setting.

Wasatch Calendars and Reports Differ

Heber City's calendar is a public municipal events list, not a complete register of actions. The Utah weekly-report viewer is a separate tool. It posts public filings, dispositions, and judgments on Mondays, or Tuesday after a holiday. The reports help with a structured date review, though retention and coverage vary.

The official weekly-report interface lists the current public categories. A filing report cannot confirm a future hearing. A calendar cannot supply a full filing history. Match the tool to your question, then confirm material details with the maintaining court.

Public Access to Court Dockets

Access to Utah court records rests mainly on the Utah Code of Judicial Administration and court orders. Rule 4-202.02 sorts records into classes, while Rule 4-202.03 governs who may see them. Rule 4-202.04 handles requests and denials, and Rule 4-202.08 sets the fees.

Utah access rules: Public indexes, case files, and daily calendars can be available, while private, protected, sealed, safeguarded, juvenile, and expunged material follows different rules. A public case history does not make every attached document public.

GRAMA covers many records held by Utah government entities, city administrative records included. State court files are different. They follow the judiciary's own rules and request process, so send your request to the entity that actually maintains the record.

Missing Wasatch Docket Results

A “not found” result is not a verdict on whether a case ever existed. Your Wasatch County docket search may have used the wrong name form. Maybe the date range was wrong. Perhaps the court was wrong too. Some older files simply lack full digital detail. Others are sealed, expunged, juvenile, private, or otherwise protected, and Xchange excludes several nonpublic groups outright.

When a lookup stalls, adjust the approach. Use the official wildcard rules and strip away filters you do not need. Read the citation or court notice again for clues. Is the venue unclear? Check both Wasatch County Justice and Heber City Justice. An authorized party can use MyCase or ask the clerk about access. Anyone else should not slip past a restriction. That holds for a city request or a different portal.

Note: A courthouse public terminal follows the same access classifications. It will not unlock a sealed or otherwise nonpublic case.

Wasatch Clerk Docket Records

The clerk enters and maintains the official case record for Wasatch County. The location pages do not publish a named district or county justice clerk. So contact the office directly rather than assuming another employee holds that title. Staff can confirm which court has your case and decode a procedural label. They can point out public documents and explain how to order a copy. They cannot give legal advice.

A strong request helps them help you. Give the court, the case number, the filing year, the case type, and a narrow description of the item you want. Ask whether the document is public. Ask whether Xchange carries it, what certification is available, and which fee applies today. Fourth District audio requests go through recordingrequest4th@utcourts.gov under the published recording process.

Wasatch Record Request Channels

Online databases are only one way in. You can search at a courthouse public terminal, call the clerk, visit the counter, mail or submit the judiciary’s record form, or request audio through the district channel. Verified parties get MyCase. Records older than 50 years may sit with Utah State Archives instead.

  • Online: Xchange for public summaries and selected documents.
  • Party access: MyCase for eligible linked cases and filings.
  • In person: the terminal or clerk at the maintaining court.
  • Written request: the Utah Request for Court Record form.
  • Phone or email: the specific district, justice, juvenile, or city office.
  • Historical route: Utah State Archives when the age and transfer rules apply.

The judiciary aims to answer a public court-record request within 10 business days. Describe the record in enough detail to be found. Expedited handling or a fee waiver needs a stated basis and proof.

Wasatch Docket Technology Has Layers

Utah’s court systems stack in layers. Clerks enter state case information into CORIS. Xchange then exposes eligible public summaries and selected images, MyCase links verified parties to eligible cases, and eFile accepts district filings while appellate eFlex handles appeals. Calendars publish settings and weekly reports publish extracts. Keep one distinction in mind, though. A filing channel is not a public docket viewer.

Utah district eFiling can confirm a submission event for an authorized filer, nothing more. It cannot prove the court accepted the paper, ruled on it, or made the image public. Older converted justice cases may carry less data. Newer district documents have been added gradually over time.

Wasatch Court Activity by Date

Read court statistics with clear fiscal-year labels. The FY2018 Wasatch district table reported 2,068 filings and 1,910 dispositions, a historical county snapshot. The Fourth District FY2023 total spans four counties, so never assign it to Wasatch alone.

4,041
Wasatch County Justice filings, FY2023
4,145
Wasatch County Justice dispositions, FY2023
2,343
Heber City Justice filings, FY2023

Why can dispositions top new filings? Courts close cases opened in earlier periods, so one year’s totals never mix cleanly. These numbers cannot predict any individual outcome. They do show why traffic, misdemeanor, small-claims, and city routing each deserve their own docket search path.

Wasatch County Court Dockets by City

A city name only helps when paired with the court that serves the matter. Heber City is the county-seat access hub and runs its own justice court. Park City’s official route points to Summit County courts. Midway municipal material points toward county justice adjudication. Hideout and Daniel call for careful current confirmation. A historical or code authority is not the same as a live city docket portal.
